Weekend Explorer Snowshoe trip

Our Weekend Explorer snowshoe trips are run in the Chamonix Mont Blanc region and is perfect for beginners and experienced snowshoers alike as the itinerary is completely flexible. We'll escape the crowds and take full advantage of the snow and weather conditions to find the best snowshoe routes around. Each day, we'll aim to walk to a significant mountain pass, summit or mountain pasture in order to get the best views and maximum satisfaction. At night, you'll rest in a comfortable hotel in the Chamonix valley.

Day 1: Meet in Chamonix 
Arrive in the Chamonix valley and meet with leader in the evening for welcome, snowshoe equipment check and briefing. Night in B&B in the Chamonix valley.

Day 2: Berard valley 
Our first walk starts from a small hamlet outside Chamonix. We walk up a small, quiet valley, following a mountain stream, until the valley opens up to an impressive snowy bowl. This is a great spot for lunch and an opportunity to practice a few winter mountaineering skills for those interested. If we have the energy, we'll ascend to a col above. Otherwise, We'll descend and return to the Chamonix valley for the night.

Day 3: Chalets Chailloux and Aiguilette des Houches 
From a small, idyllic village above the Chamonix valley, we strap on our snowshoes and start our ascent through pine forest until we reach a high mountain pasture and old chalets at 2000 meters. The views across to the Mont Blanc massif and the Chamonix Valley below are breathtaking. If we have time, we will explore the slopes above the pasture, and maybe ascend to the Aiguillete des Houches, before our descend.
After our walk, it's time to leave Chamonix behind and catch your flight back.
