Cross Country (Nordic) skiing

Cross Country (Nordic ) ski lessons and guiding in Chamonix, Les Contamines, Gran Bornand, Val Ferret and Champex

Nothing quite beats sliding through the snow in the quiet and pristine winter landscape. Cross country skiing, or Nordic skiing as it is also known as, is probably one of the best all-round work-outs and a great way to enjoy the outdoors in the winter.

Home of the first ever winter Olympics, Chamonix’s legacy for winter sports is hard to match. The Chamonix valley boasts an impressive snow record and 58 km of well-maintained cross country ski trails - enough to keep you busy for days. Ski lessons are highly recommended to get to grips with the technique, whether Classic or Skating, and even experienced cross country skiers can benefit from coaching to fine-tune the technique. We offer expert ski tuition and ski guiding in the Chamonix valley for cross country skiers at any level. Our cross country ski lessons are available on a private basis either as half-days or full days throughout the winter season.

The Chamonix valley has the added benefit of being surrounded by a number of amazing cross country ski destinations, all reachable in no more than an hours drive. For the adventurous cross country skier, we can therefore organise day-long excursions from Chamonix to cross country ski venues such as Grand Bornand in France, Val Ferret in Italy and Champex in Switzerland. We can also put together multi-day itineraries, sampling some of the best cross country skiing in Europe.

For those who like variety, cross country skiing is easily combined with snowshoeing to provide a multi-activity winter holiday. To discuss options and ideas, please do get in touch.
